MRI RESULTS

Hi Everyone!! Today was a BIG day! I had an MRI this morning and I also met with the Surgeon. I’ll start with the GREAT NEWS! The tumor was originally just over 3 centimeters and today is was down to 6 MILLIMETERS!!! With one more treatment to go, the surgeon feels confident it’ll shrink even a bit more!! She set surgery for Monday, 10/6. It will be a double mastectomy. Now for the just OK news…..I will need to do radiation…..daily for 3-6 weeks depending on the final findings. She said in the last year and a half, there’s too much research that says radiation plays a significant part in lowering the chances of reoccurrence. With that, she said I won’t be able to return to work until January. That’s a little bit of a bummer for me but at least I’ll be home for the holidays. THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has sent gifts, meals, cards and messages!! Words can not express how much all of the support empowers me to get through this. It has been quite the journey, but I’m excited to start this second half of the stretch.

Whew! Down to just a few mere millimeters? Incredible! And with that final red devil in the plan, it will basically evaporate! Time is going to fly even faster now because you’ll be focused on the surgery, then on the holidays, and then POOF! Back to work. Can you imagine? My goodness, you are incredible. Amen, Christina!

First, I love this picture of you. Such poise, beauty and strength shining through! After reading the news, I am torn with chills and happy tears - you've come so far and while your journey is not yet over, I continue to be in awe of you and your perseverance. I love for you that you have a date scheduled and that things are moving quickly (although I am sure it doesn't feel like it).
