We have a difficult update to share that Camila will be going under general anesthesia again. She has recently developed new, concerning gastrointestinal symptoms of unclear cause. To investigate further, her Pediatric Gastroenterologist will perform both a repeat upper endoscopy and a sigmoidoscopy. The goal is to examine her upper and lower digestive tracts during a single anesthesia session, with the hope of identifying the cause of her symptoms and a treatment plan that will bring her some relief.

Camila’s procedure is scheduled for September 26th. We deeply appreciate your continued thoughts and support for our family.

We are sorry to hear this but will do anything we can to help. We will coordinate food with Mary. Please be gentle with yourselves - you two are doing an amazing job navigating the most difficult of circumstances together - that of a sick child. Please know that it isn’t lost on any of us the love you have for precious Camila and each other. AND please know that there is a light and a joy in Camila that tells us she is strong and she is a fighter. Sending prayers for answers and guidance for the two of you.
